At the entrance of the ICEBAR we were given a cape and a pair of gloves to get us ready for the chilly 27 degrees inside! All that was good, but I still found myself starting to shiver after about 20 minutes. I guess I will not be visiting the Antarctic Ice Bar any time soon.
As you can see in the picture above, it's all ice. From the couches and tables, down to the bar and glasses that the shots of vodka are served out of. Why vodka? My guess is that beer and wine would probably freeze in there and of course vodka goes with the Nordic theme. Speaking of the vodka, they have a great selection of premium vodkas and the pomegranate I had and the root beer my friend had were both quite nice.
The carvings are amazing. The picture above is a carved fireplace with the face of what I think is Old Man Winter and they also had polar bears, detailed snowflake sculptures, etc...
The reason I chose this night to go and check out the ICEBAR was to get a chance and be on TV! I love the Travel Channel and they did some filming for their Extreme Series, Extreme Bars is what this will be in.
The ICEBAR is sophisticated and unique, with an unmatched cool factor! It's a must see in Orlando. A big thanks to Patz and Wylie for bringing this to Orlando and for putting me on the Guest List.
